Fathers and Photographers
Photographs serve to immortalize the moment. While all parents have a deep and abiding love of their children, mothers and fathers tend to express their emotions in different ways. Skinned knees and break ups tend to be the mothers domain while fathers attempt to create a sense of stability and strength. At times the execution of this role creates the impression of stoicism or even dispassion. But the camera is a remarkable portal to the soul – immortalizing the unspoken emotion in that moment. Perhaps this is one reason that fathers make great photographers and photographs provide great insight.
